Kay Creek itself is a gentle seasonal creek fed by local
springs. However, after good rain it fairly thunders down the hillside
- a wonderful sight and sound.
Kay Creek Cottage was home to a local artist for many years and has
been completely refurbished in a way that retains its original character
and ambiance yet offers all modern conveniences.
Snuggle up by the wood fire or relax on the balcony and watch life
unfurl on the river below. Either way you can be sure your batteries
will be recharged for the next leg of your journey.
You might decide to wander along our little bush track
and down to talk to Farmer Daves cows in our bottom paddock. Or see
what fruits are ripe for picking in our little orchard - all organic
of course
Wild life abounds; hawks and eagles can be seen flying overhead whilst
the little blue wren and his mate forage for food down below. As night
falls the tiny Bennett’s wallaby makes an appearance just outside
your window.
Being away from the main road and the lights of the townships, when
night falls the skies turn black but brilliantly lit by millions of
stars – at times the Southern Cross is right above you and you
may just be lucky enough to see the wonderful sight of a Southern
Aurora as it flashes its dance through the night sky.
Couple all this with service that is aimed at exceeding your expectations
and I’m sure you’ll never want to leave – we look
forward to welcoming you very soon.
